In a bright green forest, there lived a clever little fox named Fiko. Fiko was playful, curious, and loved making his friends laugh. But he had one bad habit—he sometimes told lies to get what he wanted.

One sunny morning, Fiko saw a basket of delicious red apples beside Grandma Rabbit’s house.
“Wow! Those apples look tasty!” Fiko said.
Grandma Rabbit had placed a sign beside the basket: “Please take only one apple.”
Fiko looked around. Nobody was watching.
“I’ll take two,” he whispered.
He quickly grabbed two apples and ran away. On the way, he met his friend Mimi Squirrel.
“Where did you get those apples?” Mimi asked.
Fiko smiled and said, “Grandma Rabbit gave them to me.”
Mimi believed him.
Later that afternoon, Fiko wanted to play near the river. He noticed a shiny golden ball floating in the water. It belonged to a little deer named Dodo.
“That’s my ball!” Dodo shouted happily.
But Fiko wanted the ball for himself.
“I found it first,” Fiko lied.
Dodo looked sad but walked away.
Fiko played with the ball until he accidentally kicked it into a deep bush. He searched everywhere but could not find it.
Soon, all the forest animals gathered for a picnic. Grandma Rabbit asked, “Fiko, did you take two apples this morning?”
Fiko became nervous.
“No,” he answered.
Mimi suddenly remembered what Fiko had told her.
“But you said Grandma Rabbit gave them to you.”
The animals became quiet.
Fiko felt his heart beating fast. He realized that one lie had created another lie, and now nobody knew what to believe.
Then Dodo came forward.
“Fiko, I’m not angry about the ball. I just want you to tell the truth.”
Fiko lowered his head.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I took two apples even though I was told to take one. And I lied about Dodo’s ball. I found it near the river, but I wanted to keep it.”
Grandma Rabbit smiled kindly.
“Thank you for telling the truth, Fiko. Making a mistake is not the worst thing. Hiding it with lies can make the problem much bigger.”
Fiko searched the bushes again. With everyone’s help, they finally found Dodo’s golden ball.
Dodo happily hugged Fiko.
“Friends?”
“Friends!” Fiko replied.
From that day forward, Fiko tried his best to be honest. Whenever he made a mistake, he admitted it and tried to fix it.
And he discovered something wonderful: **telling the truth made his heart feel lighter, and honesty made his friendships stronger.**
A lie may seem easy at first, but the truth always brings peace, trust, and friendship.
